Hey Missouri FCCLA, do you know what an online presence is? An online presence is all the content and activity that a person or business has on the internet under their name. This can include websites, social media, newsletters, and much more. In today’s digital world having an online presence is very important. It can help you recruit more members, raise awareness about upcoming events, and get more information about a certain topic.
Members are the key part of every chapter. There wouldn’t be regions or even state associations without support from its members. It is important to recruit as many members as possible and having an online presence can help with that. I encourage all chapters to make a social media account and post frequently on it. Posting frequently keeps members engaged and wanting more. It also helps you reach possible members. They can see what your chapter is doing and want to sign up. Having a strong online presence helps raise visibility and reach a larger audience.
Everyone has very different lifestyles. Some people like to stay busy while others have a more relaxed lifestyle. In all the chaos of trying to navigate life it is really easy to forget things. Luckily having an online presence can help with that too. Posting about upcoming events can make sure that people don’t forget about them. It helps raise awareness about the event and it can be a place where people can even find more information about the event. It also helps keep your audience engaged. If they keep seeing posts about this event, they are more likely to be more excited about the event. It helps build relationships with members remotely.
When you want specific information about a topic, where is the first place you look? The most likely answer is google or social media. Having a strong online presence ensures that people are able to get the information they need quickly. Whether that is through social media posts, blogs, or weekly newsletter, these things help members find the information that they need. It is important to keep them up to date to ensure that members are getting the most accurate information that they need.
I encourage all chapters to make it a goal to have a good online presence for this upcoming year. Having a good online presence has many benefits such as member engagement, greater audience reach, and increased visibility.
