Juggling between FCCLA, school, and personal life can be very stressful and difficult, but I want to share some good tips and tricks on managing your time. The Number one thing that you will definitely need is a calendar or some type of system to track your dates and times. Being on top of your schedule can keep you on task and focused.
Next is to set your goals and execute them. Don’t try and do everything at once. That can be very hard and overwhelming. Doing too many things at once can cause unnecessary mistakes, so to ensure that you are completing a task well, taking things one step at a time can be good.
Another good habit to learn when managing your time is making sure you don’t commit to too many things at once. Letting someone know you already have commitments and can not participate is ok. If you are struggling with your task and don’t know what to do, you should reach out to people. This includes teachers, peers, parents, and even siblings. You aren’t going to know how to do everything and use your resources to the fullest.
Lastly, it is ok to take breaks. Good mental health and a clear mind are to keep getting things done and have the endurance to keep on going. So if your mind is clouded, tired, and overwhelmed, then that is a time you should tell yourself I am going to take a break, reset, and start again when you feel ready to. These are all things I do to ensure I can manage my time with school, FCCLA, and life. I hope it benefits you and your journey to outer space with FCCLA.
