Hey, hey, Missouri FCCLA! I am so excited to tell you the inside scoop on one of my favorite events – The Fall Leadership Conference! It is right around the corner! Let’s talk about how to gear up for FLC!
First of all, why go to FLC? Isn’t it just another conference? Well, I think you should attend! FLC is an experience like no other! We have workshops, a dance, new competitive events, and all things fun! Here, you have time to network with different regions and connect with state officers!
What do you need to wear for this conference? The dress code is simple and comfortable! All you need to wear for this conference are jeans – no holes – and your chapter t-shirt. For the second day, the same thing, just wear your conference T-shirt!
With FLC just three weeks away, now is a great time to prepare for the fun! We will have the “A Million Reasons to Dance” PJ dance party this year! Bring your comfiest, coolest PJs, and get ready to show us your moves! This dance will have a $2 entry fee, and all proceeds will go to our state service project of the year – Missouri Network Against Child Abuse. Speaking of our service project, we will also collect money with our Miracle Minute! Our State Executive Council Advisers will be coming around and collecting money! The Adviser with the most money in their basket will win Monarch of the Miracle Minute! Who do you want to win? Bring that money!
Next up, there will be a National Program and STAR Event Showcase! Here, you can find out how a STAR event looks and even gain some ideas for your future STAR event! There will also be National Program workshops! You can find the perfect program for you and dive deeper into national programs.
This year, we will also introduce Missouri State Competitive Events! These events cost $10 per competitor and are similar to skills demonstration events. Most are in-person, but some are pre-submit to the website. For more information, visit the “compete” tab on our website!
FLC will be so fun, and we can’t wait to see you all there! If you have any questions about this conference, be sure to reach out to your adviser for more information!
