Hey hey Missouri FCCLA! Who is ready to learn about this year’s service project? Keep reading to learn more about this wonderful service project, their mission, and how you can use your leadership skills this year to help. Your state officers have exciting things planned to help raise money and items for this year.
This year’s service project is…drum roll please…Missouri Network Against Child Abuse! Their vision is for all children to be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect. They also help to empower adults to protect children from abuse and neglect through community education, professional training, and child advocacy.
MO-NACA has child advocacy centers located throughout the state. If your region or chapter is looking for a service project this is a great opportunity. Another way we are going to incorporate these centers throughout the year is by competing in different challenges. I am so excited to announce that we are going to have a blanket and stuffed animal drive. This will allow all of you to make blankets and donate barely used or new stuffed animals to the centers in your county.
There are a few statements that go along with these challenges. We ask that all of the blankets are only one layer of fleece fabric and that they are tie blankets. We also ask that the stuffed animals donated are clean and either lightly used or brand new. We will have more information and examples to help answer all of your questions on the Missouri FCCLA website. It is important for your chapter and region to donate these items and get involved because this year there will be a competition. The top regions and chapters will be awarded for their hard work and effort! We also want to encourage you guys as members to go and visit the child advocacy center located in your county or nearby.
Missouri FCCLA is excited to work with MO-NACA. I can’t wait to see all our members’ hard work and effort go towards this community service project. Your leadership is always seen. More information about the service project and the competition will be released soon on the Engage > Service Projects page of our website.
