When people think about FCCLA there are many different events, competitions and classes they can relate back to the organization. Oftentimes, one thing they fail to think about is the officers that serve as leaders to this organization. Chapter, Regional, State and National officers from across the country work vigorously to accomplish the goals set for each of their communities. In each and every officer team it takes all of the personalities mixed, highlighting everyone’s strengths in different areas, to accomplish the common goal that each of them hold.
Today, I want to stress to you the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone to be that leader. Not only will your officer abilities grow but you will strengthen attributes about yourself, such as skills like communication and dependability as well as leadership and confidence. As you go through your FCCLA journey I encourage you to be involved in every level of this organization, because what you put in is what you will take away. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone into that new position. Remember, it takes all kinds of kinds. I can’t wait to see how YOU blast off as an FCCLA Officer!
