
Missouri FCCLA administers LifeSmarts, an educational program that develops the consumer and marketplace skills of teenagers, LifeSmarts competitons are executed in a game show style and are open to all teens in Missouri in grades 6 through 12. Participants do not have to be affiliated members of FCCLA to compete. Teams compete online and in-person state matches, with the state winners advancing to national LifeSmarts Competition.
FCCLA/LifeSmarts Knowledge Bowl is a team competition that challenges students’ knowledge in six content areas:
- Personal Finance
- Consumer Rights & Responsibilities (to include Family, Career & Community Studies)
- Technology (to include Fashion & Housing Design)
- Health & Safety (to include Food Sciences & Nutrition and Early Childhood & Human Development)
- Environment (to include Hospitality, Tourism & Recreation)
- FCCLA Knowledge
