“Serving as State President during the 2024-25 term was an amazing experience that helped me develop essential leadership and personal growth skills! Collaborating with 13 fellow council members, leading state conferences, engaging in Legislative Shadowing, and taking on countless other opportunities challenged me to grow in ways I never imagined possible!”

Ella Foy
2024-2025 State President

“From junior chapter president to being a MO state officer, FCCLA (FHA/HERO in my day) gave me self-confidence, public speaking skills and sparked my love of travel. As an FCCLA adviser I love watching my members find their voice, gain confidence, explore new cities and gain amazing leadership skills that help them become successful family members, wage earners and community leaders!”

Kristi Christy
State Executive Council Adviser, 2025 Spirit of Advising Award Recipient

“Serving as an FCCLA advisor and as a MoEFCS and MoACTE Board Member has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. I’ve also had the opportunity to take an active role at both the regional and state levels—serving as a judge, STAR Events Coordinator at the state level, interviewing incoming state officers, and working behind the scenes to help everything run smoothly.

One of my favorite parts of conference season is seeing the incredible projects students from across Missouri bring to competition. I love being there to encourage them, calm their nerves, and celebrate their hard work and creativity.

Taking students to FCCLA Nationals is especially meaningful to me. For many, it’s their first chance to travel to new cities and explore the world beyond their hometown. Watching them grow, learn, and gain confidence through these experiences is a blessing I’ll never take for granted.

FCCLA is an incredible organization that empowers students, builds leadership, and creates lifelong memories—for them and for us as advisors.”

Jocelyn Lowry
FCCLA Advisor, MoEFCS President Elect, and MoACTE Communication Committee Chair
